Do you want to learn Spanish in Latin America while taking part in some world-renowned adventure activities? The Spanish and Adventure programs are ideal for students who want to work hard on their Spanish studies but also combine unforgettable adventure and. Latin America has an extreme range of terrain, landscapes and natural wonders that allow for a momentous amount of options for adventure and exploration.
Spanish and river rafting
Just a glimpse of some of our most popular Spanish and Adventure programs shows amazing opportunities. For river rafting, head to Costa Rica. The country has fourteen major river systems that start in the volcanic mountain ranges and flow out towards the Pacific Ocean or the Caribbean sea. Here you can find world-famous white-water rapids, with beautiful sceneries along the banks and amazing waterfalls along the way.>
Spanish and hiking
Although most Latin American countries present great opportunities for hiking, only Peru provides the opportunity to walk the most popular hike of the continent: the classic Inca Trail to the Inca citadel Machu Picchu. Our school in Cusco offers this hike to Machu Picchu in combination with Spanish lessons in Cusco.
Spanish and surfing
Another popular activity is surfing. Although you can also surf in Peru and on the Caribbean coast of Colombia (in Cartagena, or Santa Marta), the most popular locations for Spanish and surf programs are – again – Costa Rica and La Montañita in Ecuador. Here you can make your tropical paradise dreams come true. If adventure sports are craved, in Montañita you can do surfing, waterskiing and scuba diving.
Spanish and diving
Other good locations for Spanish and Scuba diving programs are Trinidad (Cuba) and Bocas del Toro (Panama), an impressive natural sanctuary with dolphins swimming next to the shores, stunning beaches and lush, thick green vegetation.
Spanish and skiing
The southern cone of South-America (Argentina, Chile) offers great opportunities to combine your Spanish classes with skiing! Bariloche, in northern Patagonia, sits on the shores of the pristine Lake Nahuel Huapi in the foothills of the Andes. The setting is gorgeous, and the views are stunning. Bariloche is a great base to go skiing at Cerro Catedral, a large and modern ski resort.
The Chilean capital, Santiago is major attraction for skiers and snowboarders. Located just 60 kilometres from Chile’s largest ski resort Valle Nevado, Santiago is a perfect place for a Spanish and Skiing course and combine language and culture with action and adventure.
