There are interesting volunteer projects that you can join to improve your Spanish and aid the local community.

The Spanish Classes have a maximum of six students and are 4 hours per day from Monday to Friday. Students can use lesson books and materials after making a deposit. The afternoon sessions frequently include field trips to practice real-world situations.

There are also private Spanish classes, tailored according to your specifications, and you can follow a special Medical Spanish program. But the main attraction here is without a doubt, the variety of special courses that are activity related, such as Spanish and Padi, Spanish and Yoga or Spanish and Surf. There is even a surf school located within the school with an extensive range of surfboards and equipment!

Last but not least: join the Ecuador Travelling Classroom: take Spanish lessons in different locations in Ecuador and learn while travelling.

The school offers two types of accommodation in Montañita: you can either stay in one of the ´Cabañas” of the school or live with a homestay family.

The cabañas (huts) are located at the school at just a 2-minute stroll to the beach. They are built out of ecologically friendly materials. The recycled water from the huts waters the garden, so the students are requested to use biodegradable soap. There is a Jacuzzi, a swimming pool, and a large, shared kitchen. There are also private cabañas with a bathroom and kitchen.

If you want to immerse yourself in the Ecuadorian culture and get the maximum Spanish practice possible, then the best option is to stay with a host family. The host families live in the local village. You will have a private bedroom, a fan, a small desk, a mosquito net and a set of drawers and a flushing toilet - but hot water cannot be guaranteed. Students share other facilities with the family. The school selects families with care; they are very friendly and excited to share their rich culture with you.

In addition to Spanish classes, the school offers a variety of activities in the afternoon. Examples of these activities are Cooking classes, Dance classes, and activities in and around the spa. The staff loves organising BBQ’s, surf trips, yoga classes, welcome dinners, and bonfire parties too. The yoga teacher gives classes early in the morning before Spanish class and in the evening 30 as the sun sets; join those yoga classes on the roof of the Spanish school where you can enjoy the best views over Montañita and the beach.
