Spanish Program This Spanish school in Costa Rica follows the communicative approach during the Spanish classes. The main goal is to feel confident and at ease while speaking the language. Therefore, the classes are focused on building strong communication skills, rather than obtaining perfect grammar. You can choose between Spanish group classes (4 or 6 hours daily) or individual specialized courses. The specialized courses include Medical Spanish, Business Spanish, Spanish for Children, Ecological Spanish and Spanish & Latin American Culture. The course content and materials will be adjusted according to the objectives and needs of the student.

You can also combine both options, for instance, taking your group course in the morning and your specialized course in the afternoon.

A great option for the weekends is to camp at the school’s own river campsite on the banks of the famous Pacuare River. This campsite is a wonderful place to relax in your hammock, bath in the river, hike to the waterfall or hike in the tropical rainforest on the other side of the river.


Turrialba, Costa Rica Costa Rica is not a very big country, but it is one of the most multifaceted countries in the world. You will find tropical beaches, lush rainforest, and active volcanoes. Turrialba is a very relaxed town with a laid-back attitude and is located about 65 km. from San José. Although it is a small town, you will find all you need there, such restaurants, bars, coffee shops, swimming pools, banks, and a gym in the town center. Enjoy the weekly farmers’ market where fresh vegetables, fruits, cheese and many authentic homemade products are sold.


Excursions In addition to the extra-curricular activities, the school also offers special adventure packages. You can choose between the following options:

  • Spanish & Rafting - including a trip to the world famous Pacuare River in a raft with a maximum of seven people, and a trip to the Pejivalle River in a raft for two people
  • Spanish & Kayaking - during a trip to the Pejivalle River students will practice "reading the water", the Eskimo-roll and crossing the river by making ferries
  • Spanish & Horseback Riding - enjoy one trip through typical Costa Rican rural scenery, and another through coffee fields until you reach a waterfall
  • Spanish & Mountain Biking - ride your bike through the amazing Costa Rica countryside and downhill on the slopes of a volcano
  • Spanish & Bird Watching - includes a visit to a biological reserve and offers you the chance to spot lots of different bird species such as herons, egrets, hummingbirds, and toucans.
